From the 40’s to the end of the 80’s, José Ramírez III was a key figure in the evolution of the Spanish Guitar, both flamenco and classical. Amalia Ramírez tells us about some of his most significant contributions.
Inclination and size of the head of the guitar
Among the many novelties of José Ramírez III we can highlight the inclination of the head of the guitar.
Thus, we see that the normal inclination of the neck of the flamenco guitar is less than that of the classical guitar.
In addition, the head is longer on the classical guitar than on the flamenco guitar, with the intention of making the strings longer and favouring the projection of the sound.
