Ralph Towner is an American musician and co-founder of Oregon, one of the most innovative and creative jazz groups of all time. Although his initial training was in the study of the horn, he is known as a guitarist.
He began his career with a handmade Ramírez guitar: the Tradicional model. This was his instrument for years and appears on ECM recordings with his band Oregon and on Dis & Solstice with Jan Garbareck.
