Ramirez Traditional Guitar (1A)
The Ramirez Traditional Guitar (1A) is the most emblematic model of our recent history, a fundamental piece in the evolution of the Spanish classical guitar and a symbol of excellent craftsmanship. Designed in the 1960s by José Ramírez III with the direct collaboration of the master Andrés Segovia, this guitar was used by him in the last years of his career, which is why many performers also know it as the “Segovia model”.
Built entirely by hand in our workshop in Madrid, the Ramirez Traditional Guitar (1A) is distinguished by its complex internal structure and its rich and nuanced sonority. It offers a surprising projection, a balanced volume and a warm and deep timbre, capable of filling any auditorium. Each instrument is made to order, using solid woods of the highest quality with a natural drying time ranging from 10 to 70 years. This guarantees exceptional acoustic stability and a sound response that can only be achieved with the experience of more than five generations of guitar makers.
The model includes double solid rosewood and cypress sides, with the option of customization according to the player’s preferences. Its top can be made of cedar or spruce, and each guitar is delivered with a handcrafted Manzano case with the house logo. The aesthetic design maintains the classic sobriety, although it may vary slightly in details such as the mosaic, which we elaborate with different variants.
The Ramirez Traditional Guitar (1A) is not only a musical instrument, it is a living work of art, recognized by concert players such as Narciso Yepes, Julian Bream, Yamashita or Christopher Parkening. Its comfort, richness of tone and historical heritage make this model an unbeatable choice for professional guitarists looking for tradition, character and concert sound.
