This week we will be able to enjoy the concerts organised in collaboration with the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, the Madrid Casino and the Madrid Ateneo in the Salón Príncipe of the Real Casino de Madrid.
We show you the programme of the event and the great musicians that we will be able to admire, as well as being able to attend the prize-giving ceremony and see the finalists perform.
Remember that entry must be by invitation until full capacity is reached (it is important to confirm attendance) and the rules of the venue must be followed.
Tuesday 21st March
The opening concert will be given by Montenegrin Duo, two classical guitarists from Montenegro. They have a wide repertoire that includes transcriptions of early music and original compositions written in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.
Both performers maintain an intense activity offering recitals, lectures and master classes, both solo and as a duo. They also regularly sit on the jury of some of the most important international guitar competitions.
Friday 24th March
On Friday 24 March we will be treated to Duo Mantar, formed by two extraordinary virtuosos, the American classical guitarist Adam Levin and the Israeli mandolinist Jacob Reuven. Both are described as visceral, imaginative, exuberant and transcendental.
Levin and Reuven began playing together in 2017 and have commissioned music from four renowned Israeli composers, including Josef Bardanashvili, Ittai Rosenbaum, Oren Lok and Jan Freidlin.
On the other hand, they perform works originally written for mandolin and guitar by Yehezkel Braun and new arrangements of traditional Hebrew songs by Marc Lavry and Maurice Ravel. In 2018 they made their debut at the University of Rhode Island Guitar Festival.
