The Scuaola di Artigiannato Artistico del Centopievese is proud to organise this event in collaboration with Guitarras Ramirez, one of the most emblematic families in guitar making and Sergio Tomassone Strumenti Musicali. The purpose of this meeting is to create a bridge between the luthier tradition of Italy and Spain, promoting cultural exchange and the evolution of guitar building techniques.
The history of Ramírez Guitars
Ramirez guitars have a rich heritage dating back to 1882. The Ramírez family is known worldwide for the quality of its instruments, especially after the legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia popularised his classical guitars in the 20th century. During the event, the Ramírez family will share their experience, techniques and curiosities about the making of their instruments, highlighting their role in the history of music.
Pieve e la Magia della Chitarra Event Programme
Over the course of two days, attendees will be able to enjoy a variety of activities designed to explore the magic of the guitar. Here is the programme:
Day 1: Saturday, 2 November
- Masterclass with Maestro Christian Saggese: The day will begin with a masterclass given by renowned guitarist Christian Saggese. Participants will be able to hone their skills and receive personalised guidance from one of the best classical guitar players. Timetable:

- Classical Guitar Concert: The evening of 2 November will culminate with a classical guitar recital at the Teatro Comunale Alice Zeppilli. The Classical Guitar Orchestra of the Bologna schools will open the show, followed by a recital by Maestro Saggese, who will perform works by composers such as J.S. Bach, Francisco Tarrega, and the Italian Luigi Mozzani.
Day 2: Sunday, 3 November
The second day will be dedicated to discovering the secrets behind guitar making, with a special focus on the techniques and materials used by the Ramírez family.
- Ramírez Family Presentation: Starting at 10:00, Amalia, Cristina and Enrique Ramírez will offer a multimedia presentation that will include photographs, videos and stories about the history of their family and their famous guitars.
- Instrument Exhibition: Attendees will also have the opportunity to view an exhibition of Ramírez guitars, including replicas of historic instruments such as the 1963 guitar used by Andrés Segovia. Opening times:
