On June 10, 2025, we experienced a very special day at the Biblioteca Regional de Madrid that we want to remember and share with all of you today. Within the framework of the cycle and exhibition “Al compás de Madrid” (To the Beat of Madrid), organized by researcher Ana Benavides, we had the opportunity to reflect on the fundamental role of our city in the history of the guitar.
It was a gathering dedicated to memory, music, and craftsmanship, but what made that date truly unforgettable in our recent history was a visit that did not appear on the official program.
The Unexpected Participation of Amalia Ramírez
That afternoon, we were honored by the spontaneous presence of Amalia Ramírez. Although her intervention was not scheduled in the cycle’s agenda, Amalia decided to join the event, gifting us moments of great emotional value.
Her participation transformed the conference into a living testimony. Listening to Amalia is to connect directly with the lineage of this house; her words provided the unique perspective of someone who has led the workshop and has been a direct witness to the evolution of the Spanish guitar in recent decades. Her presence was the perfect finishing touch to a tribute to Madrid’s culture.
Relive the Full Conference
If you were unable to attend on June 10th, or if you wish to enjoy this dialogue about our legacy and the “Al compás de Madrid” exhibition once again, the full recording of the event is now available.
We invite you to watch the video and immerse yourself in this talk where the past and present of the guitar go hand in hand:
From Guitarras Ramírez, we would like to reiterate our gratitude to Ana Benavides for her magnificent organization and to the Regional Library for opening its doors to us.
