A guitar, a friendship
In a recent interview published on his YouTube channel, legendary jazz guitarist George Benson shared the anecdote that you can enjoy in this video.. In one part of the video, Benson recalls a Spanish guitar from Guitarras Ramírez that was part of his personal collection. What makes this memory special is not only the instrument itself, but the gesture that accompanied it: he decided to give it to a very close friend, who was moved to tears upon receiving it.
‘He cried,’ Benson says. ‘And that shows the kind of friendship we had.’ A sincere testimony that reveals the intimate bond between music, instruments and personal relationships
The soul of a guitar made in Spain
Since 1882, Ramírez Guitars has been synonymous with tradition and excellence. Each instrument is a unique piece, handcrafted in our Madrid workshop. It is no surprise that musicians of the calibre of George Benson choose a Ramírez not only for its sound, but also for the history it represents. It has been an honour for the Ramírez family to hear this beautiful story, which they will cherish forever, and they are grateful to George Benson for sharing it.
Our brand has accompanied classical concert performers, flamenco artists, jazz musicians and guitarists of other styles. And it continues to do so, faithful to its values of authenticity, respect for music and international projection.
More than an instrument: an emotional legacy
George Benson’s story is not just about a guitar. It speaks of an act of generosity, a symbol of affection, an emotional legacy. At Ramírez Guitars, we believe that every guitar carries a piece of our history with it… and is ready to become part of yours.
