At Ramírez Guitars, we believe that flamenco music is fundamental to our country’s culture and is a hallmark of our identity.. That is why this year we are proud to launch the second edition of the Young Promises Flamenco Guitar Competition, an initiative designed to discover and support new flamenco talent.
This competition is backed by leading institutions such as the Escuela de Música Creativa, the AIE (Sociedad de Artistas Intérpretes o Ejecutantes), the Fundación Paco de Lucía and Estrella Galicia. Together, we seek to offer a real platform for visibility and professional development for young flamenco guitarists with a vocation to compose, explore and bring a new perspective.
A prize that marks the beginning of a career
The prize for best composition is a statement of intent: we recognise not only performance, but also creative talent. The winner will have the opportunity to choose a Ramírez flamenco studio guitar from the new 140th anniversary model range, from two iconic woods: cypress and rosewood. The choice will be made at our shop on Calle de la Paz in Madrid, with personalised assistance from our team.
Once selected, the guitar will be sent to our workshop for the installation of the LR Baggs amplification system, with which you will be able to tackle professional recordings and performances with complete confidence. We will be launching at the end of this year.
Professional broadcasting at our facilities
We know that today, talent also needs visibility. That is why, in addition to the instrument, the prize includes the recording of four professional videos: the winning piece and three additional pieces that the artist wishes to share. These recordings will be made in a single day at our facilities in Madrid, either in the shop or in the workshop, depending on availability. They will be recorded with the award-winning Ramírez guitar or another model from the company, and will be broadcast via our website and social media, which have a growing national and international audience.
This format not only raises the artist’s profile, but also links their image to the Ramírez universe: tradition, excellence and a commitment to new generations.
