A few weeks ago I published the histories of Luis and José Ramírez (II), both brothers and guitarists. Seeing the text about José Ramírez II on Facebook, Carlos Martín Ballester asked me about his time with His Master Voice in Argentina. And there the matter stopped, but history is alive and you cannot control it, even less so if a forgotten memory is uncovered. The conversation started where we left off, to finish talking about some wax cylinders he acquired a few years ago in Toledo with guitar recordings. On one of them, dated #1900 were a couple of guys called Luis and Simón Ramírez: Luis and José Simón Ramírez (José Simón Ramírez II) …..
