However, very few guitars reach the significance of the one that served as a bridge between two undisputed geniuses of the 20th century: the revolutionary painter Pablo Picasso and the legendary Romani guitarist Ricardo Baliardo, universally acclaimed as <em>Manitas de Plata<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>The Gypsy Genius: The Legend of Manitas de Plata<\/h2>\n<p>To understand the magnitude of this encounter, we must first understand the man behind the six strings. Born in a caravan in the south of France, Ricardo Baliardo had the flamenco 'duende' embedded in his DNA.
