Recently, Chamorro, renowned concert plectrum player, composer and teacher, visited us to try out the first bandurria made by Jos\u00e9 Enrique Ram\u00edrez (<strong>Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00edrez V<\/strong>). During his visit, the maestro shared valuable recommendations on the choice of strings, contributing his experience to achieve an optimal sound.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"555\">Maestro Chamorro&#8217;s recommendation<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"557\" data-end=\"993\"><strong>Pedro Chamorro<\/strong> analysed in detail the sonority of the bandurria and recommended this string combination which considerably improved the sonority of the instrument. This set of strings was specially selected to achieve an ideal balance between power and clarity.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1025\">The ideal mix of strings<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1027\" data-end=\"1140\">The maestro suggested the following string combination, which has been tested and validated in our workshop:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1731\">\n<li data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1297\"><strong>1st string<\/strong>: <strong>Elixir<\/strong> smooth steel with anti-rust protection, gauge 0.12 or 0.11. This string provides a bright and crisp tone in the high notes.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1298\" data-end=\"1437\"><strong>2nd and 3rd strings<\/strong>: <strong>Thomastik<\/strong> flatwound, known for their smooth and durable response, which facilitates precise playing.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1438\" data-end=\"1585\"><strong>4th string<\/strong>: <strong>Royal Classics<\/strong> silver-plated roundwound, featuring internal nylon strands for a round, balanced tone.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1586\" data-end=\"1731\"><strong>5th and 6th strings<\/strong>: <strong>Hannabach<\/strong> nylon strings with silver-plated winding, which provide a warm and powerful sound on the lower strings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1733\" data-end=\"2015\">This string mix is designed for handmade bandurrias with an approximate <strong>276 mm<\/strong> of tension.
