About “La romer\u00eda de los cornudos”<\/h2>\n

In the early 1930s, a constellation of artists formed by Garc\u00eda Lorca, Rivas Cherif, Gustavo Pittaluga, la Argentinita and Alberto S\u00e1nchez created a work destined to revolutionise Spanish dance: La romer\u00eda de los cornudos. With a plot of popular origin and orgiastic overtones, this ballet mixes traditional and avant-garde elements. In this production – the first incursion of the Teatro Musical de C\u00e1mara format into the world of ballet – Alberto’s original set design, conserved in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sof\u00eda (MNCARS), is reproduced to scale.<\/p>\n

Influence and style<\/h3>\n

The work is inspired by the pilgrimage of the Santo Cristo del Pa\u00f1o, a festival in the Granada village of Mocl\u00edn. This celebration, known for its popular elements and orgiastic overtones, was dramatised in the ballet, fusing popular affection with an avant-garde vocation. The influence of Sergey Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, which passed through Spain, is clearly noticeable in this work, reflecting a renovating change in Spanish culture.<\/p>\n

The current production of La romer\u00eda de los cornudos has been artistically directed by Antonio Najarro, with stage and lighting direction by David Picazo. The dancers include Carmen Angulo, Vanesa Vento, Jonatan Miro, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Ben\u00edtez and Juan Pedro Delgado. The voice is that of Mar\u00eda Mezcle, with Jos\u00e9 Luis Mont\u00f3n on guitar and Miguel L\u00f3pez on piano.<\/p>\n

We are delighted that our friend Jos\u00e9 Luis Mont\u00f3n has participated in this transcendent work, bringing as always an exquisite taste and a brilliant clarity that characterises his playing, as well as playing a guitar from Guitarras Ram\u00edrez, specifically a Flamenca Negra<\/a> model guitar. This model has the comfort that a flamenco guitar needs, as well as the characteristic sonority of this style adorned with a deep and powerful bass that is achieved thanks to the rosewood and its construction.<\/p>\n

The guitar used by Jos\u00e9 Luis Mont\u00f3n in this production is a testament to our tradition and commitment to music and musicians.<\/p>\n

Technical details and features<\/h3>\n

The Flamenca Negra<\/a> <\/strong>is a guitar with spruce top and Indian rosewood sides and back. The construction is flamenco and the neck is 656mm. It can be varnished with polyurethane or gomalaca, but we recommend the first option for the flamenco style, as it gives more brightness and projection, unless you are looking to represent an old repertoire in a historicist way, where the mu\u00f1equilla will have a better result.<\/p>\n

The revitalisation of this work is a way of keeping alive an important part of Spanish cultural history. The combination of talents in this production not only pays homage to the original creators, but also introduces this artistic jewel to new generations of spectators and art lovers.<\/p>\n
