QuarteTomás & José Luis Merlín at the Real Casino de Madrid

The renowned guitar quartet QuarteTomás will perform alongside Argentine composer and guitarist José Luis Merlín on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Salón Príncipe of the Real Casino de Madrid.
The concert, titled “Viaje al Cerro Sololosta – Ibero-American Music for Guitar Quartet,” is part of the prestigious concert series hosted at the historic Real Casino in Madrid.

Founded in honor of the great maestro José Tomás, QuarteTomás has become one of the most acclaimed and active guitar quartets on the international scene.
Since its creation, the ensemble has performed at major festivals such as the Shanghai International Guitar Art Festival, the José Tomás Villa de Petrer International Guitar Festival, the Mediterranean Guitar Festival, the Tallinn Guitar Festival (Estonia), and Guitares en Picardie (France).
Their artistic journey reflects a deep commitment to the dissemination of contemporary Ibero-American music and close collaboration with leading composers from around the world.

On this occasion, they will share the stage with José Luis Merlín, a renowned guitarist and composer, who will perform his own work “Viaje al Cerro Sololosta,” dedicated especially to the quartet.
The program also includes works by Jorge Cardoso, Fernando Sor, Vicente Asencio, and Gerónimo Giménez, offering a vibrant journey through the diversity, lyricism, and expressive richness of music for four guitars.

The evening promises a remarkable performance where Spanish heritage, Latin American tradition, and contemporary creativity merge through the universal sound of the guitar.
